Following up from “Lost In Space Vol 1” (S125012), it gives us great pleasure to release the second volume which features music from a further three episodes – “Wild Adventure”, “The Haunted Lighthouse” and “The Great Vegetable Rebellion”. As with the first volume the music is, once again, scored by soundtrack maestro John Williams. As before “Lost In Space Vol 2” gives a further fascinating insight into the musical genius of John Williams long before he hit real pay dirt with later work like “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind”, “Jaws” and numerous other box office smashes and soundtrack successes. As with most of our S125 Irwin Allen releases, the titles of some of the tracks give us a all a glimpse into the fantasy mindset of the times with titles like “Floating Lady”, “The Big Whew”, “Azaybo For Smith”, “J-5 To The Rescue”, “Howling Hyacinths” and “Caught By A Carrot” amongst many other suitably zany titles. As with most of our Irwin Allen TV soundtrack reissues, “Lost In Space Vol 2” contains an superb insert with mucho info on the series.--Virgil Says...Simply Vinyl
