Once again the composers are Gerald Fried (“Shore Leave”) and Alexander Courage (“The Naked Truth”). As with “Star Trek Vol 1 – “The Cage” and “Where No Man Has Gone Before” (S125001) and “Star Trek 2” – “The Doomsday Machine” and “Amok Time” (S125011), “Star Trek Vol 3” unearths some of the most original TV music from the 60’s. The titles themselves tell much of the story with such gems as ”Joust”, “Finnigan’s Return”, “Dirt Trick” and “2nd Samurai” among others from “Shore Leave” and “”Brass Monkeys”, “Banana Farm”, “Joe Berserk” and “Lurch Time” among others from “The Naked Time”. Once again, the S125 series offers a unique glimpse into the quality of TV soundtracks in the mid 1960’s. As with all “Star Trek” S125 releases, the sleeve contains many stills from the two shows as well as information on both Gerald Fried and Alexander Courage.
