Description
(Tony Fruscella)..."is not well represented on record, but one fine LP, simply called Tony Fruscella, is available on Atlantic. The group is basically a quintet, enlarged on two numbers to a septet with the addition of Chauncey Welsch on trombone who has a couple of solos and Danny Bank on baritone. Of the nine tunes on the LP seven are originals composed and excellently arranged by Phil Sunkel...Fruscella died in 1969 aged 42 from cirrhosis of the liver. If only for this LP he deserves to be remembered."; John Graham, Barga 17th July 2001
